  2. 2009 Our 8th Great Year “We are proud to be a partner of Give Kids A Smile and wholeheartedly support their goals. We hope you will support them, too.” Rolf G. Behrents, DDS, MS, PhD Executive Director, The Center for Advanced Dental Education “With the absence of a dental school in St. Louis, GKAS provides a venue for children of low income households to get out of pain and receive quality dental care from professionals who truly care about the child’s well being. I whole heartedly support the continuation of the Give Kids A Smile Program. Craig C. Hollander, DDS, MS, Diplomate American Board of Pediatric Dentistry “I am a nurse at Barretts Elementary School and have attended GKAS clinics since 2003. GKAS has truly benefited many children at Barrets Elementary. I am always having kids ask me when can I take them back to the dentist.” Becky Cartmill, RN, BSN

  6. 2009 Our 8th Great YearFrom the President’s Desk • 2009 has been another great year for Give Kids A Smile here in St. Louis. Our Biannual clinics continue to be a success. This year we have served the dental needs of over 1,100 children and produced over $800,000 worth of comprehensive treatment. In a gentle, caring, and fun environment.   All of this would be impossible without the support in time, talent and treasure of our volunteers and corporate sponsors. Besides receiving treatment at our clinics, held twice a year at St. Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education, several of the children received follow up care at local dental offices that have graciously agreed to treat them through our Smile Factory program. We are also excited about the opportunity to educate the caregivers of young children, ages 0-5, in our Tiny Smiles clinic, held during our main clinics at SLU. After all, prevention is the best way to handle dental disease. Eight great years of service to the most wonderful children in St. Louis and counting.  It doesn’t get much better than that!                                                                                Thomas C Flavin, DDS                                                                                 President, GKAS
