Background.

  • The draft updates rfc 4447 Control Word negotiation, to re-enable CW after being negotiated as disabled.

  • On CW configuration Change

    • Local PE sends a (1) label Withdraw, resets its C-Bit negotiation and sends (2) a label mapping with the new C-Bit setting to it’s neighbor.

    • Neighbor PE, once it sees the label withdraw, and if it has advertised a C-bit different than what it has configured, resets its C-Bit negotiation and sends (1) a label withdraw and (2) a label mapping with it’s Configured C-Bit setting.

    • C-Bit negotiation continue as per RFC 4447.
