  4. WHY A PARTNERSHIP? • Cancer is larger than any single organization • There have been too many silos. • Need to use resources wisely. • CSCC partnership recognized as a paradigm shift.

  5. CCS ROLE • Largest funder of cancer research in Canada. • Provider of community based programs, primary prevention, information, support and advocacy. • Concerned about all types of cancer.

  6. CCS ROLE IN CSCC • Ensure NGO/Voluntary sector is not overlooked. • Public has confidence in CCS. • Ability to advocate for policy changes. • Particular interests: • primary prevention • rebalancing the focus • research priorities
