Know Your Audience • Forget that you’ve ever heard of “the general public.” For your purposes they don’t exist! • Different audiences do very different things online; define your audiences and learn how they behave online. • The more you target specific audiences, the easier your work becomes.

  3. Know Your Audience • Being clear about your audience shapes your message and strategy. • Use current statistical research to make decisions about where to use limited resources. • Do your own research too!
