  1. Implementing MFD’s at FlightSafety International MSETM Capstone Project Rance Petty ETM5121 rance@rancepetty.com

  2. Project Overview • Proposal Guidelines --What does FlightSafety International do? --Project Purpose --Project Methodology --Alternatives Considered --Evaluation of Alternatives --Summary

  3. What Does FlightSafety International Do? • The purpose of FlightSafety International -FlightSafety International is the largest provider of flight training in the world. The company has 42 sites located at various locations around the world. Approximately 65,000 pilots are trained a year by FSI. The division that I work at is the Simulations Systems Division, we are responsible for building the flight sims and shipping them off to one of our various sites.

  4. Project Purpose • What do I hope to achieve by completing this project? -The goal is to combined the various costs of maintaining and supporting printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. - The solution is to lease Multi-Function Devices. These devices provide enterprise reliability and are much cheaper than standard business copiers.

  5. Project Approach • Estimated the total amounts spent on current equipment -Calculated total monthly lease payments for copiers -Calculated monthly support, maintenance and consumable costs for printers, scanners and fax machines.

  6. Alternatives Considered • Extend the lease on the current copiers and keep the maintenance in place to ensure the repairs and consumables are covered • Lease new high volume business copiers and send the current copiers back to the vendor • Lease multi-function devices that only have the copy option configured • Lease hybrid multi-function devices at evaluated locations

  7. Evaluation of Alternatives • Gather Requirements • Collect Data • Evaluate Alternatives • Develop and Present Recommendation
