  5. Responsibilities • Under the leadership of the Principal the Booker T. Washington Senior High School Crisis Incident Response Team is responsible for the following: • Identify Protocol procedure when dealing with Crisis situations. • Develop and implement procedures for prevention and intervention • Identify the approaches for referring, and intervening with students to identified at risk situation destructive behavior. (Ex. Suicide) • Circulate information to staff on procedures. • Provide training for teachers and staff. • Assist the Principal in controlling emergency situations.

  10. Sample Crisis Procedure Checklist • Assess Life/Safety issues immediately • Provide immediate emergency medical care • Call 911 and notify police/rescue first. Call District/Regional Office • Secure all areas • Convene the Crisis team to assess the situation and implement the crisis response procedures. • Evaluate available and needed resources. • Alert school staff to the situation • Activate the crisis communicate procedure Action Plan as per MDCPS Crisis Management Manual • Implement evacuation and other procedures to protect students and staff from harm. Avoid dismissing students to unknown care. • Adjust the bell schedule to ensure safety during the crisis • Alert persons in charge of various information system to prevent confusion and misinformation.   11. Color Code System • Code Red – (STOP EVERYTHING) • Stay in rooms/Lockdown • P.A. Announcement – Administrators Only • Meet with Selected Personal, Security and Administrators • Back & Side gate should be locked • No Visitors on campus • No Students allowed to leave school grounds • Principal will be on Data Com Radio

Color Code System • Code Yellow – (CAUTION) • Stay in Room proceed once cleared by Administration • Security will meet with Administration • Back & Side gate should be locked • No Visitors on campus • No Students allowed to leave school grounds • Principal will be on Data Com Radio if situation turns Code Red
