  3. Professional Awards An NVQ is a great way to prove that staff have the work-related skills needed for the job. Not built upon a prescriptive time scale and less time away from the job. Completed in the workplace - an NVQtests the learner’s ability to actually do the job. Successful achievement of a commercially funded NVQ is not dependent on a final exams in English, Math’s and Information Technology. Learners build evidence of the work they have done and are assessed via a portfolio of evidence and by work placed assessment and observation.
