STATE LAND ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENTOF SANDF-LAND • The two concepts are interlinked • STATE LAND ADMINISTRATION • administration of legal property related attributes • maintenance of property documents (e.g. Title Deed) • maintenance of a property asset register (inventory) • STATE LAND MANAGEMENT • administration of land use planning related attributes • maintenance of land, facilities and buildings

STATE LAND ADMINISTRATION (1) • STATE LAND ADMINISTRATION – ACTIVITIES • compile and maintain an asset register / inventory (property portfolio) • disseminate land related information (provide verified info to clients) • address legal issues on state land • comply with relevant Acts, Proclamations, Deed conditions, etc. • acquisition of land and rights (e.g. expropriation, purchase, exchange, etc.) • survey of SANDF-land • confirmation of vesting (in terms of Item 28[1] of Schedule 6 to Constitution) • registration of land (e.g. issuing of State Title, Registered Title) • disposal of superfluous land (donation, auction, tender, out of hand) • lease of state land (long term / short term) • entering into caretaker agreements • land use & property inspections / land use surveys / land audits • payment of levies, rates and municipal taxes • reserve superfluous land for land reform, client departments • servitude applications and registrations • safe keeping of SANDF-property records (e.g. original Title Deeds)
