About 200 teachers from 14 countries attended the Asia Pacific Regional Innovative Education Forum (RIEF) and five of them were from Indonesia. Microsoft has facilitated them through Partnership in Learning program.
Teachers with good competency will have opportunity to join RIEF
– a program that encourages the utilization of ICT in education.
The Worldwide Innovative Education Forum is the signature program of Microsoft Partners in Learning to honor innovative teachers and schools, and to showcase how technology can further educational transformation by being appropriately incorporated into curricula, pedagogy and classrooms

Electronic learning or e-Learning is a general term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. E-learning can be CD-ROM-based, Network-based, Intranet-based or Internet-based. It can include text, video, audio, animation and virtual environments. It can be a very rich learning experience that can even surpass the level of training you might experience in a crowded classroom.
Teachers want to use the Internet to improve the education of their students, but many factors limit their ability to do so.
The lack of funds for professional development of teachers on how to use the Net, the demand on time to find relevant materials on the Net, the limitations of inadequate resources, multiple modems or an ISDN line and the sheer drag speed of the Net itself restricts the ability of teachers to really use the Internet with any educational power.
However, internet technology can be used in a way that empowers teachers to overcome some of these problems allowing for greater interactivity. The solution may be found in their Local Area Network (LAN), faster, easier access. and more easily build and manage database of instructional media at school
