  4. LV (Louis Vuitton) Monogram Canvas

  5. White Hat • Louis Vuitton was firstly designed and founded by Louis Vuitton in 1854 in Paris, France. • In 1896 Louis Vuitton launched their official signature/pattern which are the quatrfoils and flowers (monogram canvas) that was based on the Japanese trends in the late Victorian era. • Louis Vuitton designed luxury products such as watches, shoes, clothing, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses.

  6. Inspiration • Louis Vuitton was inspired by late-Victorian trends of borrowing from Far Eastern designs and motifs.

  7. Red Hat: Feelings and Perspective • I think that Monogram Canvas has interesting pattern because it can be wear by women and men.

  8. Positive • It is a classic/simple design and the patterns are very different from the other brands. • The color is suitable for both genders. • Monogram canvas is simple but looks elegant.

  9. Black Hat- Negative things • The pattern are not really suitable for all ages. • The colors are only brown or white which not all people like those colors.

  10. Green Hat- How to Improve • Modify the patterns so that it could suit younger target audience. • Use the patterns for a wider range of colors.

  11. Process • Louis Vuitton died in 1892, his son George Vuitton continued the business. Georges Vuitton began a campaign to build the company into a worldwide corporation, exhibiting the company's products at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. In 1896, the company launched the signature Monogram Canvas and made the worldwide patents on its graphic symbols, including quatrefoils and flowers (as well as the LV monogram), were based on the trend of using Japanese and Oriental designs in the late Victorian era. The patents later proved to be successful in stopping counterfeiting.

  12. Interpretation • It can be interpreted into a painting for the modification of the pattern, so that it could bring more colors into the pattern.

  13. Cambridge Satchel

  14. White Hat-General Description of Art • Julie Deane was the founder and designer of Cambridge Satchel. Since the first day her mom helped and guided her with her company. • It was firstly found on 1970s originally at United Kingdom. She founded the company on 2008. • At first she had €600 at her kitchen table as her capital money but now her bags had been a bag that every fashionista had and been displayed in the New York, Paris and London fashion week. • The Cambridge Satchel became a hit in the fashion world after its iconic product which is “The Fluoro”. At first Cambridge Satchels only have bold colors.

  15. Red Hat- Feelings and Perspective • I think that Cambridge Satchels are one of the greatest bag that includes art inside. Julie Deane could gave good inspirations for bullies and victims of bullies. • Their customers are aware of their brand, story and background. They are always pleased with the design and they trust on the craftsmanship because satchel has always bring the best quality for all the products.

  16. Inspiration • One of her inspirations was because her daughter, Emily was being bullied so decided to make satchels to help prevent bullying. • She likes to read Harry Potter novels and she got inspired by the design of the satchels in Harry Potter novels.

  17. Positive • It is suitable for both genders and any target audience(age) to wear. • The design of the bags are suitable for any occasions. • The designs are very innovative and unique so that it can attract many people.

  18. Black Hat- Negative Things • The buckle is hard to be opened and not practical. • The colors are not mixed in each bag.

  19. Green Hat- how to make it better • I think the artwork will be better if it uses more tones or gradients of color that are mixed to show more emotions and feelings behind the art of the bag. • The buckle should be in magnets so it is easier to open and close the bag.

  20. Process • At first she thinks that she needed to make money for her family, she had never worked in the fashion industry before but with her skills she tried to design some satchels. The idea came out firstly when her daughter got bullied and she needed to move her daughter to another school which the budget rose higher. She had some lists of ideas of how to get more budget and one of them were designing the satchels. She designed the classic satchels for children to put their school books and other stuffs inside. When her “Fluoro” collection was out many fashion bloggers around the world was interested with her satchels. She never knew that her satchels could be in the New York Fashion week.

  21. Interpretation • It can be interpreted into a painting too because by painting it can shows good mixture of colors and explain deeper about the meaning of the colors (emotion).
