Working for UNMH Does NOT Exempt you from Tax Withholding When you certify that you are claiming exemption from withholding, you are certifying the following: • I claim exemption from withholding for 2014, and I certify that I meet both of the following conditions for exemption. • Last year I had a right to a refund of all Federal income tax withheld • because I had no tax liability AND • This year I expect a refund of all Federal income tax withheld • because I expect to have no tax liability. If you do not meet BOTH of these conditions for the entire year, you CANNOT claim EXEMPT at any time during the year. If you claim Exempt, you must go to the HR Compensation department at 933 Bradbury Drive SE, Suite 3002 Albuquerque, NM 87106. To change your exemptions you must go to the: The UNMH Homepage, on the left column; click on Web Based Systems, then click on Evolve3. 1. From the Evolve3 page, on the right box, (For Employees) click on Evolve3 Portal. 2. Lawson Portal Home tab - left hand column, click on Employee Self-Service, then on Pay. Then click on Tax Withholding for form W-4 changes. If you have further questions, you may contact HR at 272-2325 or the IRS at 1-866-791-0289.
