  12. OPENING When you power on your tablet, you will be taken to the Orange County screen, touch the white space which will bring up the keyboard, type in the password “orange” (case sensitive) and press the enter key. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  13. The update database screen will display The Help Desk Oath Person (HDOP) will insert a USB Drive into your tablet to update the database on your tablet. The tablet will automatically update. Once the update is complete the HDOP will remove the USB Drive. The ePoll Book Inspector will press “Proceed.” DO NOT press the “Emergency only” link. If there is an issue during the data update, notify the Poll Clerk who will call the “Equipment and Modeming Problems” line. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

The log in screen will display If the tablet doesn’t load to the log in screen, double press the OCVOTES icon on the tablet home screen Select your Polling Place from the drop down menu Enter your User Name (always your Poll number and the letter U) and Password (always your Poll number).   15. Verify Poll Information You must verify and check each acknowledgement box before signing your signature. Press “Clear” if you make a mistake and need to redo your signature.   18. ePoll Inspectors Home Screen The main screen also has an internet connection notification button that toggles between Green and Red. Green confirms connection to the MiFi unit. Red confirms not connected to MiFi. If the button is Red, have the clerk call the Elections office at (407) 254-6565 to have the issue addressed. There are three ways to locate a voter: • Swipe or Scan a Florida Driver’s License/FL ID Card • Scan the sample ballot • Entering the voter’s last • name and date of birth • (manual look up) Voter Data will display at the top right of the screen The cursor must be in the “Last Name” field to conduct a manual voter search. Voter Search Previously the ePoll Inspector data base only checked for the voter by precinct, the new ePoll system will automatically check both Orange County and the State of Florida’s voter database when you search by name and/or date of birth (manual search).   24. If the voter is exempt you will not see the address, you will see the exempt message. Exempt voters by law are judges, law enforcement officials etc. Once we have located the correct voter, press “Proceed.” 01/01/2001 01/01/2001 123 01/01/2001 Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  26. Verify the voters address If the voter is unsure, state the address on the screen. We Do Not ask for address verification documentation or compare the address on file with the address listed on the voter’s Driver License or Florida ID.   28. Voter Certificate Ballot Numbers Flip the tablet forward and have the voter sign. If the voter does not like their signature, press the “Clear” button to erase the current signature and start over. Once the voter signs flip the tablet back and press “Done.” 123 Smith Street Orlando, FL 12345 Voter Signature During this process, the Ballot Issuer will pull the ballots corresponding to the ballot numbers shown on the screen and place them into a secrecy folder. Look at the numbers in the blue circle and blue diamond on the ePoll book screen to know what ballot card numbers the voter receives. • Carefully remove ballot(s) • Place ballots in secrecy folder. • Give ballots to worker at ePoll book to verify & issue to the voter.   30. Signature Verification Using the Signature ID the voter has given you; verify that the voter’s signature ID matches the signature on the tablet. If the signature matches the signature ID presented, press “Yes.” Voter Signature Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  31. Ballot Confirmation After verifying the voter has the correct ballot card in the secrecy folder, thank the voter; direct them to the voting booth, and press “Done.” You can now process the next voter in line. 89 Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

In the above illustration we swiped the voter’s Driver License/State Identification. • The system will automatically recognize that a photo and signature is included on Driver License/Florida Identification and will not ask if the voter has a Picture/Signature ID. • If you scan the Sample Ballot or search by Name and DOB, the system will ask if the voter has a photo and signature ID. • We do not have to ask each voter if they need assistance in voting.   35. Manual Voter Search Enter the voters last name and date of birth into the Last Name/Driver License box, results will display. Do not enter the first name or initials at this point Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  37. Manual Voter Search If the voter is not found, you can conduct an additional search using the voter’s first name. Press “Click To Sort By Name.” Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  40. Key Points To Remember When doing a manual search, be sure to verify the correct spelling of a person’s name (ex. Brown vs. Browne). Check the use of punctuation. For example, O’ROURKE could be entered as OROURKE without punctuation. Check the use of spaces. For example, Van Buren could be entered as VanBuren Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  41. Photo Identification When you locate a voter by conducting a manual search or scan a Sample Ballot, the system will automatically ask if the voter has Photo Identification. If the voter has photo identification press “Yes,” follow the next step on the screen. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  42. Photo Identification If the voter does not have photo identification press “No.” A voter message will display, complete a Help Desk Slip and refer the voter to the HDOP. Press “Next Voter.” The voter must vote by Provisional Ballot. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  43. Signature Identification When you locate a voter by conducting a manual search or scan a Sample Ballot, the system will automatically ask if the voter has Signature Identification. If the voter has signature identification press “Yes,” follow the next steps on the screen. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  44. Signature Identification If the voter does not have signature identification press “No,” voter message will display, complete a Help Desk Slip, send the voter to the HDOP. Press “Next Voter.” Voter must vote by Provisional Ballot. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  45. Manual Voter Search Remember to be thorough when searching for the voter, before sending to the HDOP if you are doing a manual search. Check spelling and punctuation of the persons you are searching for. If a person states their name is Mary Smith-Collins, check: Smith Collins Smith-Collins Smith Collins Be careful not to confuse voters with the same name but different suffixes such as Sr. Jr. or II. Manual Voter Search If after steps 1 and 2 of the manual search, the voter is not found, press and highlight any name to display the “Not Found” button, press “Not Found,” voter message will display, complete a Help Desk Slip and send the voter to the HDOP.   47. Key Point To Remember Photo and signature identification may be two separate forms of identification. Voters must have both photo and signature identification in order to vote a regular ballot. Orange County Supervisor of Elections 2014

  50. Voter Assistance The “Voter Assistance” button will appear at the ballot issue screen for every voter who has never requested assistance in the past.
