  2. Topics GIS Sensor /Adapter Architecture Basic Event Sources Advanced events Practical Realization Reflex Web Portal REAL-LIFE Usage

  3. GIS Sensor /Adapter Architecture • The GIS subsystem generates two types of events: Basic AVL events and Advanced GIS events !!! • The GIS subsystem architecture is based on a Sensor/Adapter methodology. • The GIS sensor consists of two components: AVL module and GIS module. • The AVL module collects real-time data via a GPRS network from tracker devices mounted on vehicles. • The GIS module usesvariousgeospatialalgorithmsandanalyzesboth data fromtrackerdevicesand GIS database stored data andgenerates AVL and GIS eventswhichareforwarded to the Pub SubMessage Broker component via the GIS adapter component.

  4. Basic Event Sources • Tracker device – this device is mounted in every vehicle and contains a built-in GPS sensor, GSM/GPRS modem and internal memory for position data storage. The primary role of the tracker device is to provide GPS based position data but also to act as an integrator for other various data source interfaces meaning it can send data from other vehicle sensors. • Contact detection device – this device is built in every vehicle and provides information whether or not the vehicle is started or turned off. • Battery level indication device - this device is built in every vehicle and provides battery level related data.

  5. Advanced events T1 • Indication of spatial route constraint violation– every transportation route has a strictly defined geofence zone which constrains the movement of the transportation vehicles. This event is triggered if a vehicle goes beyond this zone. This can be caused by a potential unplanned heavy traffic or weather conditions which can influence the driver to leave the planned route and choose an alternative road. T2 Geofence • Indication of route time schedule violation– every vehicle is constrained with an optimal delivery route time schedule. This event is triggered if a vehicle fails to execute delivery according to the specified time schedule. This can be caused by various reasons including sudden heavy traffic and weather conditions, vehicle malfunction etc.

  6. Advanced events • Indication of maximum speed violation– this event is triggered when a vehicle exceeds the maximum speed limit defined by traffic regulations. This event can be also an indication of the driver’s risky behavior. • Indication of fuel consumption violation– all machines and vehicles are considered to generate an average fuel consumption estimated by considering daily working time schedules. This event is triggered if a machine or a vehicle consumes more fuel than previously estimated. This can be caused by possible machine or vehicle malfunctions.

  7. Practical Realization • Both VAJOMAG and INVESTGRADNJA vehicles were equipped with hi quality and durable tracker devices !!! • 7 • 3

  8. Reflex Web Portal • Users can monitor REAL-TIME vehicle data through the Reflex Web Portal !!! • Reflex Portal Front page provides a user friendly login interface • Both INVESTGRADNJA and VAJOMAG clients are provided with passwords • Administrator Users can monitor all vehicles • http://reflex.elfak.rs

  9. GinisAVLWebGIS Client • OpenStreetMap support provides World Wide vectorized map overlays !!! • HTML5 Web technology provides rich graphical functionalities without the need to install any plugins !!! • HTML5 makes it possible to use the portal on mobile and tablet devices without any modification !!!

  10. Flexible User Interface

  11. Vehicle positioning

  12. History tracking

  13. Location Geofence Management • Simple One Click Add or Remove Location Geofence UI system !!!

  14. REAL-LIFE Usage • Both VAJOMAG and INVEST require an administrator which uses a desktop computer to enter Geofence zones and customer locations

  15. REAL-LIFE Usage • Users get notification through the ReFLEX portal using a tablet device !!!
