Dropout Summit: progress since 2008 Bold Goals Reduce the dropout rate in JCPS by 50% in 10 years Louisville will move into top tier among 15 competitive cities in high school graduation in 10 years Legislation and Policy Multiple Pathways/HS Redesign Student Supports Beyond High School • State raised compulsory age to 18 and ensured robust alternative pathways • Senate Bill 1 – deeper, fewer, clearer standards that are globally benchmarked • Kentucky first to adopt Common Core State Standards
