Awad Rasras - Honorary Member Of Kentucky Association of Two Year Colleges Award Rasras is a highly-qualified individual who has attended reputable educational institutions to complete his education. He pursued his B.S. in Mathematics from Birzeit University, Palestine, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from Texas Womans University in 1983. Thereafter, he enrolled at the University of Kansas and received his MA in Education in 1985. Since 1987, he has been serving Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville, KY as Mathematics Associate Professor.

    3. Professional Society memberships At present, Awad Rasras is a well-respected member of two elite organizations namely Mathematical Association of America and Kentucky Association of Two Year Colleges. MAA or Mathematical Association of America is a professional society dedicated to people who have a keen interest in mathematical sciences. Founded in 1915, the society has numerous members including university, college and high school teachers; undergraduate and graduate students; computer scientists; pure and applied mathematicians; statisticians and others in government, business, academia and industry.

    4. About Kentucky Association of Two Year Colleges It is a statewide organization that is open to mathematics teachers on the college level and other individuals who have interest in mathematics. The organization aims at establishing and maintaining consistency in the course content placement and elaborates on the success or failures of innovations, providing an opportunity for collegial exchange, offering development opportunities, and exchanging the information regarding available positions. KYMATYC actively participates in state decisions regarding the issues that are affecting the learning and teaching of mathematics at community college level. A conference is held every year (in March) with locations rotating between different parks.

    5. Hobbies and interests of Awad Rasras Awad Rasras is a dedicated and hardworking person, with vast experience in teaching mathematics to students. Aside from that, he is an avid traveler who enjoys visiting different destinations and exploring new sceneries and places. Being a fitness enthusiast, he goes running and cycling on regular basis. He spends most of his free time reading.

    6. Awad Rasras Attended Texas Womans University For His MA in Mathematics Awad Rasras is a committed professional, with nearly 25 years of experience in teaching Mathematics to students. Presently, he holds the position of Mathematics Associate Professor at Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville. Mathematics professors usually handle a wide array of mathematics areas as well as diverse needs of students at colleges and universities. Mostly they are responsible for teaching statistics, algebra, mathematical theory, calculus and various other areas. They may also be required to perform some additional duties such as advising undergraduate students, establishing research projects to internships and supporting the university or college mathematics program.

    7. Attended Texas Womans University Awad Rasras completed his MA in Mathematics in 1983 from Texas Womans University. It is a public university that maintains excellent reputation as the countrys largest university mainly for women and is known for its quality educational programs. It prepares both men and women for leadership through quality graduate, undergraduate and professional programs at a distance and on campus. It provides a liberal-arts based curriculum that has been specifically developed to help students gain success in the global society. Moreover, the university serves the citizens of Texas by conducting research which affects the prevention and treatment of diseases such as diabetes, stroke, childhood obesity etc.

Obtained MA in Education from the University of Kansas Prior to attending Texas Womans University, Awad Rasras studied in Birzeit University, Palestine and graduated in 1978 with B.S. degree in Mathematics. In 1985, he completed his MA in Education from the University of Kansas. Aside from being a dedicated Mathematics Associate Professor, Awad Rasras is also the honorary member of two reputable organizations: Mathematical Association of America and Kentucky Association of Two Year Colleges.

Awad Rasras Has 25 Years of Experience In Teaching Mathematics Awad Rasras is Mathematics Associate Professor at Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville - the largest of sixteen colleges that form the Kentucky Community and Technical College system. It is a comprehensive, public, postsecondary institution accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. With over 15, 000 students, six campuses and many other sites, Jefferson is the areas second largest college and provides students with a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere with professional staff and faculty.
