Purpose:

JST is proud to Introduce the PND disconnectable crimp style connector.Responding to the needs of the ever expanding market, this high-density, wire-to-board, through-hole type connector with positive locks is newly developed enabling the user to achieve excellent results by withstanding unexpected external forces.

Problem:

Many applications require a disconnectable, double-row crimp style connector designed to meet the demand for high-density, low insertion force connections that offer engineers design flexibility.

Script:

The finger-friendly PND series wire-to board connector system, with a current rating of 3A AC/DC using 22 AWG wire and a voltage rating of 250V AC/DC, are double-row 2.0mm(.079”) pitch, molded in a 94V-0 Nylon 66 with an operating temperature range of -25ºC to +85ºC. Designed to consider the risk of solder bridging, this through-hole 2.0mm (.079”) pitch, dual-row {5.0mm (.197”) pitch between rows} construction allows for high-density mounting and is provided RoHS compliant.

The PND contacts are designed to accommodate a range of 22 to 28 AWG wire, are tin-plated over a copper alloy base material. The low insertion force construction ensures stable electrical contact and low contact resistance at all times even when subjected to vibration and distortion.

The PND housings are available in even numbered sizes from 8 to 40 circuits, rated 94V-0 nylon 66 and incorporate a secure, positive lock when mating with the PCB mounted headers. The edges of the housing are designed with rounded, chamfer edges for effortless mating cycles. The finger-friendly design provides easy insertion and extraction from the mating PCB headers.

SCRIPT:

The through-hole, top-entry (straight), fully-shrouded headers have four high walls to prevent improper mating and the intrusion of flux and other contaminants. Available in even number circuits from 8 to 40, the already RoHS compliant headers are made of glass-filled nylon 66 rated 94V-0. The posts are copper-undercoated copper alloy with reflow treated tin-plating for maximum effectiveness for deterring whisker growth. The headers are offered with and without mounting / PCB positioning bosses.

Applicators are available for the semi-automatic and fully automatic termination equipment normally found in the manufacturing environment as well as standard hand tools for engineering, lab and pre-production requirements.
