  11. MARINA CONSTRUCTION SITE GUIDELINES In an effort to promote safe transit on the waterway, we developed a set of strict guidelines for all marina to meet for their design projects. They are: No structures allowed within the Gov’t R.O.W. (within 250 ft of the C/L of the GIWW navigation channel). Incorporate structural measures in the marina design to protect the vessels in their facilities from the wakes of vessels operating on the GIWW. Design entrances to provide safe ingress to and egress from the facility in manner not interfering with GIWW traffic. Marina entrances, from edge of federal maintained channel to the R.O.W., must be dredged to elevation -16 MLLW. No utilities including water fountains, light poles, etc. are allowed on the ROW. Lighting on the adjacent proposed facilities must be shielded in such a manner as to not blind pilots on vessels transiting the GIWW. All the necessary environmental clearances must be obtained by the developer. Plans for the proposed facilities must be submitted to the Corps of Engineers for approval.
