    1. The Bulldog Club of America

    2. BCA…Who are we? Founded in 1890, the Bulldog Club of America came together for the purpose of encouraging the thoughtful and careful breeding of the English Bulldog in America, to perpetuate the purity of the strain, to improve the quality of native stock and to remove the undeserved prejudice that existed in the public mind against a most admirable breed. Our goals are much the same today…

    3. The 5 Purposes of BCA We have a Breeder’s code of Ethics We offer a BCA Breeder Referral Service We offer BCA Judges Education We offer BCA pamphlet’s, tapes, CD’s and other educational materials Our member clubs offer Breed education booths throughout the country Our magazine “The Bulldogger” offers many educational articles Our “Illustrated Guide to the Standard” helps to define our breed standard

    4. To improve the Breed through encouragement of effort, directed toward approach to, or attainment of, the degree of excellence set forth in the Standard of the Bulldog Breed. BCA offers Conformation shows throughout the United States in each of it’s 8 divisions. At the shows, Bulldogs compete and are judged by their conformity to the Breed standard BCA also offers Performance sports to test the breed’s levels of “Obedience” and “Agility” BCA offer Junior Showmanship to perpetuate the “sport of Dogs” by teaching our children proper sportsmanship and friendly competition BCA has a Code of ethics to define what is required to be a member

    5. To stimulate interest in competitive public showing of Bulldogs In addition to very informative articles, our breed publication “The Bulldogger” displays show results and championship photos to stimulate interest in competition. Our Clubs offer “fun matches”, education, dog shows and the companionship of others with similar interests

    6. 4. To further the interests of the Breed. Our Health Committee keeps us aware of new information, medical tests and concerns that will affect our Breed Our Legislative committee informs us of pending legislation that relates to our breed Our Breeder Referral service helps to keep prospective buyers out of the hands of opportunists by aligning them with Members in good standing, who have signed a strict code of ethics BCA Education seeks to arm buyers, breeders, judges, competitors, juniors with the information they need to protect our beloved Bulldog

    7. To work for the general good of breeders, owners, and exhibitors of Bulldogs As a Club we encourage our membership to protect and care for the Bulldog breed, through proper care and handling, sound breeding practices, and good sportsmanship We provide educational materials, classes, and information to encourage the general public to learn more about our breed
