Dual detail score entry
Dual Detail Score Entry

  • No number crunchers in team challenge rooms!

    • Instant challenge scores still calculated by hand

  • We will enter every TC appraiser’s scores into the computers…

  • Twice…

  • When they agree, we will print the scores and send them back to the challenge room

Procedures overall
Procedures: Overall

  • When? Except for leads, sign in time is 9:00

    • This is different from all other appraiser roles

    • We’ll be working until about 5:30

  • Access to the room is limited

    • Not a place for visiting or hanging out

  • All paperwork is logged in and out of the room

  • Refer anything unusual to the lead or co-lead

    • This allows everyone else to continue processing the “normal” scores, keeping the flow going

  • Keeping up with TC more important than doing IC

    • By the end of the day, we will catch up

  • Ensure appraisers are scoring the items the computer expects

    • Appraisers must score same items for every team

  • Enter all scores for each appraiser

  • Remember to check for deductions, especially on the prep area form

    • Should already be on the deduction worksheet; check

About accuracy and speed
About Accuracy and Speed

  • We MUST be accurate in our scoring

  • We also need to be fast

    • Teams are waiting to pick up their scores from the head judge

  • But not at the expense of accuracy

  • We need to stay current with the incoming TC paper

    • Let IC backup if necessary

NH Appraiser TrainingDestination ImagiNation

Exceptional situations

  • Deduction with no reason

  • Zero subjective score with no reason
