  3. Biography After attending two years at Fort Valley State University, Mr. Gray transferred to the University of West Georgia where he received his Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education. His concentrations were math and science, in which he is currently certified to teach. Currently, Mr. Gray is finishing his Master's program from Central Michigan University.After graduating from college, Mr. Gray went on to pursue his teaching career by working as a math teacher for Fulton County. After two years of being in Fulton County, Mr. Gray transferred to Clayton County where he is currently teaching 8th grade mathematics.

  4. Classroom Procedures

  5. HOW TO ENTER THE CLASSROOM As students enter the classroom QUIETLY, they will begin working on the warm up, which will be placed on the board or projector. The entire class schedule/agenda will be posted on the board daily.

  6. HOW TO HEAD YOUR PAPER The correct way to head your paper for my class will always be located above the board. Please, pay attention to the order in which items should be listed on your heading. We will go over this in class today. NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR A PAPER NOT HEADED CORRECTLY.

  7. HOW TO TURN IN WORK Baskets are located on the shelves for the turning in of homework/class work. (Each class has their own label.) Students will pass papers to the left ending at each row assuming I am collecting a class work assignment. Students will immediately turn in their homework by placing it into basket when entering class. After the last bell has rung, I will not accept any homework assignments.

  8. Absent Work Absent work will be located in the folder on the shelf named ABSENT FLODER. Look for your name on the assignment and return it to me no later than the next day. Daily classwork and homework will also be located on the school website. Please check this daily.

  9. Mr. Gray’s Island Students, for no reason at all are you to touch anything on my island. At no point are you to visit my island without permission. If something from my island floats away you are not to touch it. =

  10. HALLWAY PROCEDURES Universal Hand Signal will be used in and outside the class. When I raise my hand, all students follow my example and all activity ceases. We will quietly move in the hallway at all times. We will respect our fellow students who are in the process of learning. Walk in a single file line, facing forward.

  11. Class Rules Come to class on time. Raise your hand to be acknowledged. Remain in your assigned seat unless you have permission to get up. Do not eat candy or other food in class unless you have been given special permission. Do not cheat.

Consequences If A Student Chooses To Break A Rule: 1st   consequence:      verbal warning 2nd   consequence:     name on board/sign ticket  10 minutes of your lunch time3rd   consequence:      name on board/sign ticket  ALL of your lunch time                                   Letter goes home with copy of tickets on back4th    consequence:     name on board/sign ticket  45 min detention after schoolPhone call home and/or Parent Conference5th    consequence:     name on board/sign ticketSENT TO PRINCIPAL’S OFFICESevere Disruption:  Being disrespectful towards teachers, bad language, fighting.SENT TO PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE.

Communicate their mathematical thinking coherently and clearly to peers, teachers, and others. c. Analyze and evaluate the mathematical thinking and strategies of others. d. Use the language of mathematics to express mathematical ideas precisely.

My Expectations • I expect every student to perform to the best of their capability. • I expect every student to follow all rules and instructions given by the instructor. • I expect every student to exceed on the CRCT. • I expect every student to leave this classroom with more mathematical knowledge than he/she had before entering.
