    1. “Mangers Do Things Right – Leaders Do the Right Thing” This session will take a look at the evolution of financial aid professionals. Three distinct groups have preceded those who are now entering our profession. What is expected of today’s aid administrator? To meet the demands, leadership is a necessity!

    2. Warriors Warriors were: Men of ideas/great thinkers/in many ways idealists They relied on personality, political savvy, ego, charm, and courage You were either with them or against them

Middlemen Middlemen were: Nurtured by the idealism of the 50’s and 60’s – Kennedy’s “New Frontier” and Johnson’s “Great Society Believed that all things were possible through hard work They perceived themselves as lacking talent and political savvy Did not have new technologies to rely on This period required a lot of hard work and learning- their efforts were, perhaps, incomparable This was the transitional group

    4. Technocrats Technocrats are: About information, honing ideas, and rearranging facts They also work hard, harder than expected in this age of advancement and information
