  2. ACNE Scar Types • Ice Pick Scar:Characteristically, ice pick scars are narrow at the surface but deep. Due to its superficial nature, resurfacing techniques such as chemical peels and laser are not effective.  • Box Scars: Boxcar Acne Scars – clearly defined and steep edges Box car scars can be characterized by presence of clearly defined and steep edges. They are smaller and deeper than other types of rolling scars.  • Rolling Scars: Rolling atrophic scars – relatively broad depressions in the skin that have rounded, sloping edges.
