  9. Matthew 15:22-28 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” 23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” 25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” 27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

  10. Kunarionis the term for a domestic dog, a house dog, puppy dog–the kind that plays with your children. • Not the stronger term used in, for example, Philippians 3:2 and Revelation 22:15

But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

  16. Who God Makes Us! Changing your Dominant Spiritual Thought!

  17. Find a Phrase • Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. • Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

  18. Find a Phrase • Ephesians 2:4-6 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

  19. Find a Phrase • Deut. 14:2  for you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.

  20. Find a Phrase • Psalm 103:11-12 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,    so great is his love for those who fear him;12 as far as the east is from the west,    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

  21. Find a Phrase • Psalm 103:13-14 As a father has compassion on his children,    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;14 for he knows how we are formed,    he remembers that we are dust.

  22. Find a Phrase • Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you,    the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delightin you;    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

  23. Find a Phrase • Isaiah 43:2-4 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers,    they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire,    you will not be burned;    the flames will not set you ablaze.3 For I am the Lord your God,    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; Since you are precious and honored in my sight,    and because I loveyou,I will give people in exchange for you,    nations in exchange for your life.

  24. Find a Phrase • Galatians 3:26-27 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. • John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

  25. Reality

  26. Challenges • Matt. 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

  27. HOW CAN WE KNOW? • 1 John 2:3-6 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a]is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

  28. Jesus w/Peter Luke 22:31-32 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

  29. Jesus w/Peter JOHN 21:15-19 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him,“Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

  30. NOW Look Forward! Joyfully go for it! • Not to prove! • Not to earn! • But, because of who God has made you!

  31. Who God Makes Us! Victors! Conquerors! Princes! Princesses! Children of the King!
