  6. The Wharton-INSEAD PhD Exchange was established to promote international scholarship and collaborative research with members of each school’s faculty. Examples of collaboration include use of technology-supported training and joint dissertation committees. One requirement of the PhD student exchange program is that the visiting PhD student be sponsored by a faculty member of the host school sharing the same research area of interest. Currently, Wharton PhD candidates are engaged in nine fields of specialization. Each student works closely with distinguished faculty members in programs developed to meet individual research interests and professional goals. Since 2002 14 PhD students have crossed campuses to collaborate on research. PhD Exchange program processes were established and implemented to provide consistency across departments and schools. Having consistency ensures compliance with both schools policies and procedures along with a centralized repository for all PhD data and information.
