  5. ENDORSEMENTS • Require a coherent sequence of 4 or more credits • at least 2 courses in same career cluster • at least 1 advanced course • Must specify in writing the endorsement intended to earn upon entering 9th grade.

  6. Acknowledgements • A student may earn a performance acknowledgement on the students transcript for outstanding performance in: • Dual Credit • PSAT, ACT, or SAT • Earning a recognized business or industry certification

  7. College Entrance Requirements ALGEBRA II The state’s two largest public university systems, University of Texas Texas A&M University, SFA said they will continue to requirethe Algebra II for admission. University of North Texas System will follow suit.

  8. College Entrance Requirements ALGEBRA II Many private universities have also declined to change their admissions standards in response to HB 5 Including Rice University and Southern Methodist University

Our plan is to meet with all students during their Career Investigations class to - discuss HB 5 requirements, endorsements, etc. - discuss choices available for next year’s courses - complete Personal Graduation Plan with each student We will send the PGP home with students to discuss with parents, and we will require a signed form stating your agreement with the PGP. Parents are invited to call Cindy Owens in the high school with questions regarding their student’s PGP.
