The “Emeritus” Study • Produced as GRI report in 1998 (GRI-98/0367.1) • Considers history of B31.8 Code and initial development of federal regulations • Based on 2 meetings involving people involved in initial B31.8 plus initial OPS Directors • Includes, as appendix, notice of initial promulgation of federal safety requirements

  3. The “Emeritus” Study • Addresses in more detail development of requirements in five areas 1. Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) (Section 4); 2. Class Location (Section 5); 3. Valve Spacing (Section 6); 4. Inspection Frequency (Section 7); and 5. Public Communication/Education (Section 8).
