  9. PowerPoint with Narration • 50% WebCT usage from off campus • Material must be 56k compatible • Delivered in short sections • Screen shots in PowerPoint • HarddiskOgg for narration • Impatica to compress the file

  10. Uses screen shots of the ProQuest software with pop-up call outs that are synchronised with the sound track to draw the user’s eye to the relevant part of the screen at the appropriate time. • A separate sound file is added to each slide as a slide transition and the slide advance time is set to the duration of the sound file.

  11. Each slide is duplicated with the sound file attached to the first and a ‘Please wait while the next slide loads’ call out message attached to the second. The slide advance time for the second slide is set to zero. • This ensures that the narration runs on 56K dial-up without stutters, as the slide’s sound file is loaded during the displaying of the previous slide that has a ‘Please wait’ message.

  16. Freeware! • HarddiskOgg takes a wave input stream from any Windows 95/98/2000/XP compatible sampling device (including microphone input and line in) and converts it to an Ogg Vorbis/Wave/Monkey's Audio/MP3 (optional) stream. This happens in realtime, so basically it is a harddisk recorder in Ogg Vorbis. http://www.fridgesoft.de/harddiskogg.php
