  3. Children from a school in England have written to Coll Hello Coll,We have been learning all about Coll. How many shops do you have in Coll? Have you seen any sealions? Is the school a private school? Is it Catholic? We have learnt that there are only 200 people in Coll and only 15 children! We really like your beaches! Please can you write back Coll. From Year 2 b, Great Sankey Primary School • Webmaster's reply : Hello Year 2 b. There is one shop, one post office and a gift shop/arty sort of place, and a pottery. The island school is for primary children only and is of no special faith. There are, indeed, 200 people living here all the year round with a few more in the summer (holiday homes and visitors) but the number of children is about 50, not 15. After primary school the children go to boarding school in Oban and come home weekends either by ferry or aeroplane (weather permitting of course). Quite often, in the winter when the weather is bad, the kids can't get back to school - but it never bothers them too much! I hope this helps you.

  4. Arinagour is the only village on the island.
