  • Explain to me what YOU did for the past two days while there was a substitute in my class (what did you do on Tues and Wednes)? Did you miss me? Why or why not? Why didn’t you write me a “Get well” card? Were you worried about me at all? Explain why or why not.
  • DO NOT STOP WRITING UNTIL THE 5-MINUTE TIMER HAS GONE OFF!

    • Joe reflects on the different nurses that visit him. Then he remembers a conflict with the Germans—namely a man named Lazarus, who “raises” from the dead a few times.
