Long standing experience. • Previousprojects on ‘nationalobservatories’ – but no interactionyet • Labour market issues (agingworkforce, lack of new skilledworkers, skills mismatch, …) > pressureon companies andindustry • Public image of the sector (future of the sector in Europe, workingconditions, …) • ‘New skills for new jobs’ EU employmentstrategy

  2. Expectedresults 1. Update of the analysis of the nationalobservatories (ISP’s) on employmentand training in the TCL sectors 2. Networking betweenobservatoriesleadingto a EU TCL Skills Council 3. Creation of platform of data, best practices, innovative tools. Definition of services tobeprovidedby the network. Creating joint initiatives 4. Design anddevelopment of ICT infrastructureand tools, based on an open community portal. ICT includes job intervieuws, Wiki tool, … 5. Create more visibilityfor the topics (skills & competences) and the sectors

  3. Activities 2011 Update of the in depth analysis of the existing observatories On site visits 6 observatories visited Structured information obtained Formal letters of intent New observatory established for the Italian tanning sector

  4. Activities 2011 : creation of website, identity – logo, video, leaflet 06 Deecember 2011 : Creation of EU TCL Sector Skills Council

Activities 2012 : first year of the EU TCL Skills Council • Statutesbetween SP have been signed (March 2012) : definition of Board members, EU TCL Skills Council members, Associate members • 4 reportsrequestedby the European Commission (finished) • Three meetings EU TCL Skills Council (April – September – December) • Final Conference : December 2012 (presentationreports, new video, …) • Final report : definition of policy recommendationsfor European Commission / nationalgovernements / social partners / other stakeholders (seepresetation Stephanie Le Berre)

Activities2013 : Second year of the EU TCL Skills Council • Extent the TCL Skills Council (by SP) to more countries • Providing budgets for bi/tri-lateralinitiativesbetweennationalobservatories • Having at leastonegeneralactivityfor the associate members and the EU TCL Skills Council • Furtherdevelopment of the ICT Tools • Update of the 4 reports (2012) • Working on Policy Recommendations
