  1. FSSAI Renewal FSSAI, ​which stands for ​Food Safety and Standard Authority of India ​is a food license issued to a food business operator (FBO), to carry out a food business. It is mandatory to have this licence according to the ​FSSA Act, 2006​. The licence is valid for a period of ​1-5 years depending on the purchase period. On approaching the expiration date, you will need to renew your license online, in order to continue your food business without paying any penalty for an expired license. Need for Renewal of FSSAI License As mentioned earlier, a FSSAI license is usually valid for a period of ​1-5 years for a Food Business Operator (FBO). Renewal of a license can be done online. An application will need to be submitted 30 days prior to the date of expiration. Failing to follow this clause will lead to a fine of ​Rs 100 charged each day of delay from the date of expiry until renewal of the license is approved.
