First of all, let us know the origin of the name of Brahmatal Lake. According to the Hindu Mythology, this is a lake where Lord Brahma meditated; therefore the lake was named as Brahma Tal.

MEALS AT BRAHMATAL BEST MEALS PROVIDED DURING THIS TREK Eating meals on treks is a challenge to many. Your body works out so much that you are tempted to gorge on all food available. Yet, over-eating could work against you while trekking. So, our trek leaders and cooks plan best for you when it comes to a hygienic diet.

ITINERARY FOR BRAHMATAL PACKAGE : DAY 1 REACH LOHAJUNG 1 The first trail is cemented and by using a chaos of houses. 15 minutes with your trek, you will find a cluster of centuries old Cypress trees and shrubs. It would take four visitors to circumvent the woods! Try hugging it. After reaching Lohajung, you will see beautiful Nanda Ghunti peak. Lohajung is at the cen- tre of 12-15 nearby villages. The necessary things can be bought from the local stores like caps, shoes, jackets etc. if needed but it is advised to carry all things with you on this trek. Mobile networks will be available in some parts of Lohajung. It is religiously believed that Lohajung is a place where Goddess Parvati had a war with the demon Lohasur due to which the place is named as Lohajung which means ‘War with Lohasur.

  4. ITINERARY FOR BRAHMATAL PACKAGE : DAY 2 LOHAJUNG TO BEKALTAL 2 The beginning of the trek is from Lohajung central market. The walk is through the upper region of Lohajung and then through the forest trail with few houses. A short trek will lead to a village spot called Mandoli. Climbing high will lead you towards Kali valley where two rivers join names kali and Pin- dari. Water pipes will lie along the trek that supply water to the Lohajung. Then on the left, there is a small mass of homes called Budla where you will find rhododendron trees from February to March which makes the trail more beautiful. Approximately at 8,500 ft., you will find a bridge of 10 meter known as Link-gaad to help you cross the stream. After two hours of trek, you will reach Begum which has splendid views of Navali Bugyal and Bagdi Bugyal. It a place where you can rest and take some time. An hour walk will lead you towards Gujrani stream and from there it’s just 75 minutes’ walk to reach Bekaltal. Bekaltal is a beautiful lake in the midst of the oak forests and there is adjacent lake called Khopdaliya, near which we can camp.

  5. ITINERARY FOR BRAHMATAL PACKAGE : DAY 3 BEKALTAL TO BRAHMATAL 3 Meadows of Ghora Lotani, the last stop for the horses. Beyond Ghora Lotani the meadows merge in to the alpine. The starting of the trail is out of campsite and steeply climbs into the Rhododendron and Oak forest. The trail opens out to a meadow after an hour of ascent which brings you at 11,500 ft. the highest point of the day. After all the day’s trek, you will see Nainital and Al- mora side of the valley. There are big mountains in the area are Nanda Ghunti and Trishul. The campsite of Brahmatal 500 meters away from the lake at 10,351 ft. DAY 4 BRAHMATAL TO BRAHMATAL PEAK AND BACK 4 The trek begins with 40 minute climb through the mixed forests leading out towards the open meadows and base of the big climb to the top. There is an entire panorama of open mountains as you reach to the summit. You will see Mana, Neelkanth, Nanda Ghunti, Chaukhambha, Nilgiri, Mandir, Trishul, Maitoli and high mountains stretching all the way to the Panchachuli range.

  6. ITINERARY FOR BRAHMATAL PACKAGE : DAY 5 BRAHMATAL TO LOHAJUNG VAI JHANDI TOP 5 The descent takes about 7 hours from Brahamatal to Lohajung. Then we go back over the route to Khabekhal, after which we directly go down to Lohajung. Then we pass by Dal- dum which is a wonderful location surrounded by trees. We will reach Malling after a trek of 20-30 minutes which is a water resource and outside the forest area. You will be able to see a few villages from here as well. We will reach Burali after walking for an hour which is a small settlement of few houses. Again we will find a stone trail from here leading towards Lohajung. DAY 6 DEPARTURE FROM LOHAJUNG 6 Departure form Lohajung.

INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE: EXCLUDED FROM THE PACKAGE:  First night dinner and accommodation in guest house.  Transportation cost (to reach base camp or ride in between trekking).  After summit breakfast before transportation.  All meals & additional cost during transportation.  All time meals and snacks during trek.  Trekking stick, warm clothes, trekking shoes.  Experienced trek leader and guides.  Trekkers have to carry their bags during trek.  First aid kit.  If you wish to offload your backpack, there will be an additional charge of Rs. 1200 + 5% GST. The backpack cannot weigh more than 9 kgs. Suitcases/strollers/duffel bags will not be allowed. Please note that charges will vary for last minute offloading in case you decide to offload your bag after reach- ing the basecamp (Rs. 1400 + 5% GST). Online offloading in advance is possible up to two days prior to the trek start date.  For accommodation comfortable tents during trek.  Equipment's for trekking. Please Note: Last ATM location is in Deval which is before reaching Lohajung.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO CARRY FOR THIS TREK: GEAR: CLOTHING:  1 backpack (50-60 liters) with rain cover  2 pairs of pants  3-4 T-shirt with long sleeves  1 rain cover for you  2 Shirts with long sleeves  1 pair Floaters or slippers  1 Jacket  1 water bottles  1 waterproof, wind-proof jacket (Please make sure this is a warm jacket and not just a windcheater)  1 Lunch Box  A pair of trekking shoes or waterproof sports shoes  2 pairs thermals (uppers and lowers)  3 pairs socks ESSENTIALS:  1-2 pairs woolen socks  Cap  Woolen cap  Sunglasses  Woolen gloves  Cold cream  1 woolen scarf  Lip balm  Extra cotton bags FOR TOILET AND BATHROOM We use hygienic dry toilet tents during trek because of minimum water availability. Carry additional things by yourself like hand sanitizers, wet wipes, tissues etc.

Health care, Medication, pulse rate checker, Health card are included. Every trekker will get a health checkup. Trek leader will check your pulse, heart and oxygen levels and will mention it in your health card.
