Pain killers such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) may also be recommended for the treatment. Muscle relaxers and even antidepressants might be helpful depending on the causes and intensity of your pain. Pain also reduced by a local application of mild heat or ice. Often in case of severe muscle spasm pain, corticosteroid injections are administered for arthritis of the shoulder.
