  2. DRINKING ALCOHOL INTRODUCTION -Several misunderstandings about drinking alcohol exist in the church today -Is it sinful to drink a glass of wine? Can I drink “socially”? What does the Bible say about drinking alcohol?

  3. DRINKING ALCOHOL INTRODUCTION -Our brethren are trying to find a way to justify “social” drinking. -There are some facts that we will consider from God’s word that may help us to understand the truth on this important matter…

  4. DRINKING ALCOHOL The Drink Of The Bible -There are 3 Hebrew words for wine in the OT *tiyrowsh - “fresh or new wine” (0% alcoholic content…grape juice) *Used 38 times in the OT (Prov. 3:10; Joel 2:24; Hos. 9:2)

  30. DRINKING ALCOHOL Why Should I Not Drink Alcohol -Drunkeness is condemned * The drunkard and the social drinker differ only in degree…not kind *Every social drinker to know their “limit”…has to learn where it is…catching a buzz at some point or another

  31. DRINKING ALCOHOL APPLICATION -We need to take seriously the nature of this issue amongst our brethren -We are dealing with sin when were involved in drunkenness…and social drinking is the first step to this sin

  32. DRINKING ALCOHOL APPLICATION -If you are involved with alcohol, quit now or you will be lost for eternity -We need to come to the Lord and seek His forgiveness if we have sinned in any way
