Benevolence Definition The disposition to do good; kindness; love; accompanied with a desire to promote others happiness; an attribute which delights in your happiness; a disposition of heart which inclines us to think favorably of you and do you good; an inclination to perform kindness or acts of charity; an act intending to show kindness. This does not only mean giving money, its helping you to see how you can be relieved of your current distress.

    15. Case Scenarios Female member, She came in for assistance financially because her husband left her and she had not heard from him for a few weeks. They have children, but shes unable to work because she had been having health issues daily that prevented her from working. She was depending on her teen daughter to care for her them. Community: Walk in: Claim to husband/wife newborn baby summer time. Both unemployed. Couple does not have identification. Looking for money for apartment (stating they were staying with relatives and put out). Baby looks flushed dirty/improperly dressed

    16. Scenarios Member: Requested $1,500 -1 mortgage payment $1,106; Gas bill $718; Light bill $144. Received $718 for light bill payment from LWCC Living above her means expenses $3,253; which includes a $365 per month payment for her Sons (H.S. sophomore) school tuition, and a $287 per month Car Note. Her 2 most recent paychecks were cut in half do to an advance she had received in the fall of 2010 worth one entire month wages. She re-financed her Mortgage Note in the spring of 2010 under her mothers name (her mother had her own mortgage note). Consistent tither Attendee. Requested $1,172.00 in back rent Attending for about five (5) years did not take members classes stating she doesnt plan to participate in ministry functions. She quit her job several months prior to coming for financial assistance. Reasonable to quit other than she was unhappy because she was promised a promotion that she did not receive.

    17. Scenarios Member Requested $520 which is a partial payment of his Rent ($725 per month), he had a $205 money order in hand. Received $520 from LWCC Back in October 2010 LWCC had blessed him with $250 to assist him to pay his rent (same apartment). incarcerated for 12 years Began working at Pivotal Staffing through the Safer Foundation (Avg. 20 hours per week @ a rate of $10 per hour). Prior to that his family was assisting him. Only worked for 3 months. Only receiving $230 from Public Aid. Currently has 3 strong employment leads.
