  1. Desi Cow Ghee & Its Medicinal Uses in Ayurveda

  2. According to ancient Ayurveda Cow ghee is full of essential nutrients, fatty acids, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidants and antiviral properties. It is cool, sweet and full of saturated fat. You can add 2 teaspoons of it to your cooked food during lunch or dinner or you can use it in cooking. If the ghee is in the solid state then warm it for some time till it becomes liquid. Keep in mind that if cow ghee is very old then it is more effective and costly.

  3. Ayurveda describes eight kinds of Ghrita/Ghee which are obtained from milk of eight different animals. Among all, ghee which is obtained from milk of cow (Cow’s ghee or Go Ghrita) is considered best.

  4. Cow ghee (Go Ghrita) increases vision and production of semen. It pacifies the tridosha. It improves retention power/memory and gives glowing skin. It is cooling, tasty, unctuous, tonic, appetizer, good for digestion, eyes, and intelligence.

  5. Medicinal Uses of Cow’s ghee Migraine In migraine, Desi cow ghee can be used for nasya. Put few drops of this cow ghee in each nostril, twice a day for one week. Excessive cough in children Massaging on chest with ghee is helpful. If children is suffering from severe cold during the change of season, then heat two teaspoons of desi ghee with few cloves of garlic till the ghee melts and garlic cloves turn slightly brown in colour. Let this mixture cool down and then you can massage your children with this mixture. Alcohol Intoxication In alcohol intoxication, 24 grams of cow ghee is given with same amount of misri.

  6. Bleeding through nose Alum or spatika or phitkari should be pulverized and added to pure desi cow ghee and this mixture should be used as nasal drops in order to cure nasal bleeding. Burn injuries Cow desi ghee is commonly used in India for the treatment of burns and wounds. The ghee based formulation were useful for wounds, painful ulcers, insect bite wounds, leprosy, herpes, wounds caused by heat or fire and deep wounds by external application as per the classical texts of Ayurveda. Hiccups Consume a tbsp of desi ghee to help solve the problem of hiccups. Ghee prevents this irritable problem.
