WHAT IS A MODEL CONGRESS?
Debates, as we know them, are a healthy way of having the students generate and express opinions
about very many different topics about worldly affairs. A popular way to expose your child to
debates is by sending him to a model congress. Model congress is a simulation of Congress in
session, which features a topic and many other debaters from various parts of a state.
Usually, a session of model congress is hosted or organized by reputed institutions like Yale,
Princeton, or sometimes even by the Congress itself. The prestige of such events is the only thing
that remains undebated during the entire event. Such debate camps feature topics like educational
reforms, preservation of the planet, women empowerment, poverty, globalization, etc.
Model Congress sessions, through revealing highly researched speeches in favour of and against the
