THE great leader points SOCRATES ABRAHAM LINCOLN Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 in Kentucky(USA) He was an American statesman and lawyer who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 to 1865 He preserved the Union during the U.S. Civil War and brought about the emancipation of slaves Abraham Lincoln ended slavery in the year 1864 In 1865, he was short dead by a supporter of the Southern States. • Socrates was an ancient Greek philosopher. • His whole life was a search for truth • He believed in thinking and reasoning • He tried to change people's attitude by asking questions. • Socrates gave up his life for the sake of truth. • Plato was his chief disciple.

He gave the slogan workers of the world unite. Karl Marx died in England in 1883. • Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbandhar in Gujarat • Mahatma Gandhi fought the British through non violence. He was the main architect of India's freedom • He called his fight satyagraha which means insistence on the truth • Gandhiji lived a simple life • People loved him and called him Bapu. • Gandhiji was shot dead on 30 January 1948.

  11. THE great leader points MARTIN LUTHER KING SANIT MOTHER TERESA Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need. In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and became a symbol of charitable, selfless work. She was also awarded the “Bharat Ratna Award”. • Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. • He started  the Civil Right Movement  in the USA • He received the  Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 • Black Americans respect him as much as we respect Gandhiji
