Automatic Initial Distribution (AID)

AID is the automatic issue, in predetermined

quantities, of new or revised map, chart and

related products by NIMA to customers with

established AID accounts. All Pacific Fleet

commands identified in the 3140.3A will be

provided AID service for all allowance items.

Portfolio Designations - As established by

NIMA, nautical chart coverage of the world is

divided into 52 geographical sub-regions as

shown in CATP2V01U with each sub-region

being assigned a two-digit portfolio number.

The portfolios consist of charts with either “A”,

“B”, or “X” designation.

    • Format letter on DSCR’s homepage under ordering information menu
    • Call (804)279-6596 or DSN 695-6596 after faxing to ensure it was received
  • Account revalidations occur annually
