Why do i want to do this l.jpg
Why do I want to do this?

  • To avoid “giving up” on a source (or even a topic) just because it’s not on a computer screen in front of you.

  • Don’t reinvent the wheel!

    • Many of your research projects will build upon the work of others. If someone has already done extensive research on a topic or question, use it.

What s a citation l.jpg
What’s a citation?

  • A citation is a brief description of one specific information source.

  • It includes enough information to allow a reader to find the exact source.

  • It usually appears in a bibliography, list of references, or a research database.

  • It may appear in a number of different formats, but each will display the same information.
