  2. Singapur wirtschaft Die notwendigen Maßnahmen im Kampf gegen die COVID-19-Pandemie haben schwerwiegende Auswirkungen auf die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung auf der ganzen Welt. Als Folge der Pandemie rechnet der Internationale Währungsfonds (IWF) mit einem starken Rückgang der Singapur wirtschaftum -3 % im Jahr 2020. Dies wäre viel schlimmer als zur Zeit der Finanzkrise 2008-09. Für Singapur, einen souveränen Stadtstaat und eine erfolgreiche Demokratie, erwartet der IWF, dass die Wirtschaft in diesem Jahr um 3,5 Prozent schrumpfen wird.
