  3. Adalaj Ni Vav Set in the quiet village of Adalaj, this Vav has served as a resting place for hundreds of years for many pilgrims and caravans along their trade routes. Built in 1499 by Queen Rudabai, wife of the Vaghela chief, Veer Singh, this five-storey stepwell was not just a cultural and utilitarian space, but also a spiritual refuge. It is believed that villagers would come every day in the morning to fill water, offer prayers to the deities carved into the walls and interact with each other in the cool shade of the Vav.

  4. Indroda National Park, Gandhinagar Indroda Nature Park is also known as the Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park. This park is part of the SaritaUdhyan, which is situated in the famous Indroda village in Sector 9. Animal species like deer, hare, porcupine, wild boar and various other mammals and reptiles can be seen at the park. A year-round tourist attraction, the park is famous for its Deer Park and Dinosaur Park. Dinosaur Park is regarded as the Jurassic Park of India and is world’s second largest hatchery of dinosaur eggs. Tourists coming to this park can see different kinds of dinosaur models like Titanosaurus, Stegosaurus and many other species.

  5. Akshardham, Gandhinagar SwaminarayanAkshardham in Gandhinagar, Gujarat is a large Hindu temple complex inspired by Pramukh Swami, the former spiritual head of BAPS SwaminarayanSanstha. Located in the capital of Gujarat, the complex was built over 13 years and is a tribute to Swaminarayan and his life and teachings. At the center of the 23-acre complex is the Akshardhammandir, which is built from 6,000 metric tons of pink sandstone from Rajasthan. The complex’s name refers to the divine abode of Swaminarayan in the BAPS philosophy; followers of Swaminarayan believe that the jiva or soul goes to Akshardham after attaining moksha, or liberation. BAPS followers worship Swaminarayan as God almighty.

  6. Thol Bird Sanctuary Thol lake bird sanctuary is a shallow freshwater body surrounded by marshes on the edge and scrubby forest embarking the sides. The lake sanctuary covering an area of 7 square kilometers was declared officially in 1988 and is also known by the name of Thol Bird Sanctuary. The shallow water reservoir speckled with reed beds gives it a distinct ambience while being an ideal dwelling for varied species of birds and insects. The agricultural land surrounding the lake provide ample amount of food for quite a number of birds.

  7. Nalsarover A black tailed godwit gracefully descends upon the tranquil water, flutters its wings and sails on. A small, brown and white wader with a slightly up curved bill, the bird has traveled 3500 kms from its nesting ground in Central Europe to spend the winter at Nalsarovar in Gujarat! Clouds upon clouds of more than 200 types of birds land in this lake having made an equally long journey to escape the harsh winter of their nesting areas. Here they find food and warmth. These migrant birds visit Nalsarovar every year from November to February.
