  1. DIY Cutout Fashion

  2. Where we are heading? • Fashion continues to change and it’s always interesting to guess what’s next • While many may wait for the next trend a lot of people are creating their own distinct styles these days

  3. DIY Cutouts • Are you edgy? • Love to personalize? • Frequently mix and match? • Can’t let go of old clothes? • Well if this is the case you will absolutely love the DIY Cutout style!

  4. What will you need? • Ruler • Sharp Scissors • Pens or Markers • For the more experienced designers an Xacto Knife • Some blades • Article of clothing

  5. Create a layout • Having some tracing paper will be good to develop ideas for your cutout design • You be able to mix and match different ideas and take away layers to see what looks good and what doesn’t

  6. Planning • Once you have a design, use your ruler to guide your pen or marker • For circle motions cut out your tracing paper and outline the shape onto your article of clothing • Press down gently in order to keep the outline light on the clothing

  7. Execute • Start on the outside of the outline you have created to cutout any marks left on the clothing • Create a slit with either the scissors or Xacto knife (maybe easier with an Xacto knife) • Keep your hands steady and a firm tight grip on the article of clothing to ensure a smooth cut

  8. Polish it up • If there are any loose threads still hanging around go back over it with the scissors • Pay attention to minor details for the best overall finish • And just like that, you revamped a old shirt into something completely different and stylish!

  9. Need Inspiration • Check out these cool styles!
