  2. A comfortable office environment involves a lot more than just aesthetics

  3. Address Heating and lighting • Temperature is the most common office complain • A staff member should be appointed to manage the temperature but also to work with the management company if any issues arise. • Lighting is much easier to address • Work with the design of your office to make some areas brighter and others dimmer depending on the room and its purpose • If it possible, every employee should work in a space with natural light • If not, create a public space with lots of natural light. • Research other methods of lighting rather than just fluorescent

  4. Daily to-do list Out of more than 1,000 office workers surveyed by National Association of Professional Organizers, 82% said they feel being organized improves their performance • Always have on your desk the basics: • Notebook: It is ideal and should be your to-go-to when creating a daily to do list but also for jotting any project related notes pertaining to list • All writing materials such as ball pens, pencils, highlighters. • Post-it notes • This is key to organization and productivity! Post it notes help you stay on task and aware of your most important projects or/and of time sensitive assignments.

  5. Keep an eye on technology • Computer hardware and peripherals should always be your number one priority because they are crucial to having an efficient office environment. • Computers are an integral part of every office! • They have become the life force of all offices and in some cases are more valuable and have replaced paper for certain roles (such as creative). • Always replace computer accessories and computers that malfunction to ensure efficiency • Ink and toner supplies • To save money, you can have a main printer synced to the entire office that only prints black and white and have another printer synced to the office manegers computer that prints color

  6. Filling system and supplies • From file cabinets to manila folders. A well stacked file system is the key to organization. • Always have a filing system set in place for others to follow. • Literary Organizers and color coded folders are a great way to organize ongoing and/or pending projects and bills not only for your desk for also for your department.

  7. Paper shredders • Shredders are another must! • Central to disposing of important documents so that information doesn’t land on the wrong hands • Shredders are also a great tool of disposing of documents and paper work that you do not need- so start clearing up your desk!

  8. conclusion • According to Forbes, productivity is the combination of intelligent planning and focused efforts. This means that productivity is something you must work on a daily basis and it is something that you can always improve upon.
