About SSVAP - The Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP) is situated at the picturesque Lavale hilltop in Pune with the core idea of providing quality education and industry learning environment in the specific areas of visual arts such as photography, filmmaking and visual effects. Academics - BA IN VISUAL ARTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY OVERVIEW - Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP)offers a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Photography program which is a 3 year, 120 credit hour degree. The BA program provides candidates with a thorough grounding in the fields of commercial, fine art, and documentary photography along with other visual art forms like Visual effects and filmmaking. The first year is a foundation year with basic visual art courses along with basic courses in Photography, Visual Effects and Filmmaking. The second year of the program is the time when students get to choose one photography genre as a specialization and one non-photography area such as filmmaking, visual effects and visual graphics and painting and sculpture making as another specialization. In the final year students work on their final degree projects along with studying advanced courses in the following areas: Visual Effects, Digital Filmmaking and Visual Communication.

  2. DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL CINEMATOGRAPHY - Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP)offers a one-year Diploma in Digital Cinematography program. The diploma program provides candidates with a thorough understanding of filmmaking processes and deep knowledge and skills in Cinematography. The first semester focuses on the basic skills in cinematography along with the basics of film direction and editing. The second semester of the program gives students a chance to work on their final film and also study advanced courses in the field of Cinematography. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS - CERTIFICATE IN STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY CERTIFICATE IN IMAGE PROCESSING: DIGITAL AND FILM Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP) offers two certificate programs for the professionals and enthusiasts. Certificate program in image processing focuses on both darkroom image processing and digital image processing and a certificate in studio photography focuses on the skills that are required for the studio based photography genres. ELIGIBILITY - Standard XII (10+2) pass or equivalent examination from any recognized board with minimum of 45 marks or equivalent grade. ADMISSIONS - The admissions at Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP) take place in a three-step selection process. This process is designed to identify potential candidates to fit in our programmes. SSVAP looks for candidates who have a creative mindset as well as a clear vision and interest in pursuing a career in the fields of Visual arts and Photography. The admission process begins with aspirants registering themselves on our website wherein, they need to showcase their portfolios. We look for candidates who have been trying their hands on the different art mediums with an understanding and liking towards these art forms.

  3. The next vital step is the admission process in the Personal Interaction. The candidates who get shortlisted on the basis of their portfolios, are called for a one-on-one interaction with the faculty members. These candidates, thus, get an opportunity to express their thoughts about their interest areas and reasons for pursuing this programme.
