  1. What Are the Basic Duties of a Security Officer? In a world that is becoming so desperate and violent day by day, it becomes increasingly important to ensure your personal security as well as that of your office. Most security officer these days are rigorously trained to prevent any kind of criminal activity anytime. Both armed and unarmed security officers possess the skills to ward off the intention of a criminal. However, they have other duties as well.   2. Parking Assistance Although it is not one of the main duties of a security officer, yet he/she possess the skills to enable proper parking of the guests’ vehicles and keep those under strict surveillance to prevent any sort of unwelcome activity.

  3. Guarding Office Premises Well, this is something all security officers do. It is one of their favourite duties – to prevent trespassers from entering the office premises. They keep patrolling the interiors and exteriors of the premises and maintain a strict eye on all the gates.

  4. Keeping a Note of All the Visitors All security officers are not concerned with this task but, some are. They keep a note of all the visitors so that they can take necessary steps if any kind of problem arises.

  5. Receiving Phone Calls That Come After Business Hours Most security officers are entitled to this task of answering phone calls that come after business hours and taking down the details so that they can inform the concerned person later.

  6. Responding Immediately To Emergencies Generally, the security office is the first person to respond to any emergency situation like a medical emergency or a criminal activity inside the office premises. He (or she) always stays on their toes to help out during such situations.
