  4. Why study Accounting? The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting provides introductory and advanced courses in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, taxation and information systems. Eastern students develop both a theoretical and pragmatic understanding of how graduates operate as successful experts in accounting, auditing, taxation or management consultancy.

  5. Skills Needed for a Career in Accounting Students will acquire proficiency in: • Accounting methods, • English, • Mathematics, • Information systems, • Economics, • Communications. Students seeking professional careers in accounting, particularly with public accounting firms, are encouraged to pursue a graduate degree in Accounting.

  16. What is Business Information Systems (BIS)? Business Information Systems (BIS) is the application of information technology (IT) to organizational and managerial needs to provide business solutions. A BIS major needs to be aware of: what IT can contribute to an organization; how to bring an IT solution to fruition; and how IT opens up new opportunities to restructure an entire business.
