  1. Troubleshooting a Kohler Generator is Easy

  2. If you have the basic mechanical knowledge you will be able to troubleshoot a Kohler generator. Here are some simple steps to get you started:

  3. First Start the Engine • Try to turn on the engine and if the battery is not working clean it with a wire brush and try again. If the battery is down, get another one.

  4. Read the Oil Level • Use the dipstick to check the oil level and if it is below the full line add some more oil. If the generator gives out black smoke it is asking for more oil.

  5. Replace Spark Plugs • Use a deep socket wrench to replace plugs. Bad plugs cause sputtering and make for a difficult start. Kohler wants you to install the spark plugs with a gap.

  6. Change the Air Filter • When the engine shuts down after a fine start, the air filter might be the problem. First, remove the panel that holds it in place and then pull it.

  7. Check Gas Levels • Look for the fuel tank and check the level of gas. Clean the carburetor if it is clogged. If the engine backfires fuel supply is contaminated with water.

  8. Look for Blown Fuses • If the fuses blow, the engine will fail to produce electricity. Check the ground wires if the fuses are getting blown regularly.

  9. The above easy to follow steps make troubleshooting a Kohler a breeze. Buy a Kohler 14kw generatorfor your residence and get free delivery.
