Introduction • South Mumbai has always had an old world charm with its British era architecture, ports and beautiful sea views. • Although flats in South Mumbai come at a premium, they are still very much sought after. Areas like Cuffe Parade, Pedder Road and Colaba are home to some of the country’s most expensive real estate.

  3. Byculla • Salsette 27, a luxury project in Byculla comes with every amenity imaginable. There’s a steam room, pool table, indoor & outdoor jacuzzi and even a temple is proposed on the premises. • The landscaped lawn and sit-out area mean that Salsette 27 isn’t a beehive in the urban jungle, but a spacious and green project. Flats in this building are available in 2 and 3 BHK configurations.

  4. Lower Parel • Lodha Group’s 17.5 acre project in Lower Parel, ‘The Park’ is one of the biggest projects housing flats in south Mumbai. It is close proximity to High Street Phoenix and Kamala Mills. The Park will not just have homes, but also hotels and shopping malls. The layout even includes a 7 acre park.

  5. mahalaxmi Mahalaxmiis another prime area with its beautiful racecourse views. One of the biggest projects here is PiramalMahalaxmi. The buildings in this project have 2,3 & 4 BHK flats.   6. Worli Most people looking to buy flats in South Mumbai will first look at Worli. The area is connected via the Bandra-Worlisealink to the suburbs, and has a fantastic view of the Arabian sea. It is also in close proximity to the nightlife of Lower Parel. IndiabullsBlu, a four-tower project in Worli has ultra-modern interiors designed by Dale Chihuly. 90% of the 371 flats are already booked. A prime feature of IndiabullsBlu is its enormous football ground.

  7. Prabhadevi One of Prabhadevi’s newest projects is Aquino by Rohan Lifescapes. The 31 storey tower offers a 270 degree panoramic view of the Arabian sea and the city of Mumbai. What is special about Aquino is that there is just one apartment per floor. The building comes with the standard set of clubhouse, gym and pool facilities. Along with railway stations and the upcoming metro, the project is also close to Siddhivinayak Temple.

  8. dadar • Dadar is famous for being the commercial heart of the city, with hundreds of thousands coming to work here every day from far-off suburbs. Yet the area has several upcoming residential projects. One such project is Kohinoor Square. It has both residential flats and offices. The whole complex consists of two main buildings with over 2.7 million square feet of space. There is a parking area for over 2000 vehicles.

  9. Conclusion • As you can see, South Mumbai still has great potential for residential development. It is not just the suburbs that are developing. Most of the projects shown in the previous slides will be completed by 2020. The difference is that nearly all new flats in South Mumbai are located in hi-end luxury projects, while the suburbs are more focused on relatively affordable housing.
