  1. Modern Minimalism: Discover the Rado True Thinline Watches A sleek watch with a simple design aims to show just the time, cutting out the extras. If you prefer the basics for timekeeping, you might fancy many Rado models. The Rado True Thinline for example, usually only includes a date feature and sometimes skips the second's hand. Many see these watches as more formal due to the link between analog timepieces and dressy wear. However, their minimalist style doesn't mean they lack beauty. With fewer features, they tend to be thinner. Their simplicity makes them adaptable to different styles and should be a staple in many collections. The Rado True Thinline In All Its Glory Rado is famous for its modern design and innovative use of high-tech ceramic. Introduced in 2011, the True Thinline Les Couleurs watch features a sleek monobloc high-tech ceramic case, ensuring a slim profile. Despite its name, the True Thinline Les Couleurs is anything but simple in its design. You have a wide range of vibrant colors to choose from, ranging from bold primaries to neutral earth tones. Once you select a color, it covers the entire watch, including the hands, logo, indices, case, and crown. This makes it a great choice for those who see their watch as an accessory or for those who tend to be tough on their timepieces. The models are described as featuring designs stripped down to their simplest forms. The dials are minimalistic, showcasing only an hour and minute hand along with the Rado logo, without any indices, subdials, seconds hand, or decorative elements. The Rado True Thinline materials consist of high-tech ceramic, known for its lightweight, durable, and scratch-resistant properties, the cases measure 39 mm x 43.3 mm in diameter and are remarkably thin 4.9 mm. Despite its sturdy construction, the watch weighs just 82 grams.

  2. The monobloc ceramic cases are crafted without the need for a stainless steel core, using a special process. They boast a polished finish, while the dials and flanges feature a sunray finish. The sapphire crystals are curved, and both the winding crowns and three-link bracelets are made from the same polished ceramic as the case. To maintain its lightweight quality, the bracelets are secured with three-fold buckles made of titanium. Inside, the Rado True Thinline houses the remarkably thin quartz caliber 9 ETA 210.001, measuring just 1 mm thick, concealed behind a solid, sandblasted titanium case back. Other Versions Of The Rado True Thinline The True Thinline collection welcomed three new automatic models, featuring textured dials inspired by endangered plant species in collaboration with the Great Gardens of the World organization. Great Gardens of the World, spanning 20 countries, has partnered with Rado to produce collections influenced by nature, categorized by chapters and numbers. The latest trilogy encompasses Chapters 8 to 10. These Rado True Thinline materials are all sleek, gender-neutral 40mm high- tech ceramic monobloc cases, with a slim profile of 9mm. Ceramic is also utilized for the bracelets, equipped with a triple-folding titanium clasp. With 30 meters of water resistance, the cases weigh 100 grams and house the Rado 766 automatic movement (based on ETA 2892), boasting an extended power reserve of 64 hours and an anti- magnetic Nivachron hairspring. To ensure precision, the movements undergo testing in five positions. Box-shaped sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating safeguard the dials, while the sapphire crystals on the titanium case back are digitally printed with Great Gardens of the World Chapter X. Chapter 8 showcases a sleek black polished high-tech ceramic case, inspired by the pleated leaves of the Hawaiian Luolu lelo palm tree. The dial features golden hands and branding for contrast. Chapter 9 pays homage to the Chilean Araucaria, presenting a glossy white high-tech ceramic case. The dial mimics the scale-like leaves of the tree with engraved triangles in opalescent mother-of- pearl.

  3. Chapter 10 draws inspiration from the Dragon Blood Tree of Yemen, encased in a radiant grey high-tech ceramic plasma case. Its two-layer dial portrays the thick, entangled branches of the tree with a skeletonized plate on the top layer, revealing a lower layer in pink gold. Availability & Price The trilogy, comprising Chapters 8, 9, and 10 of the Rado True Thinline Great Gardens of the World, is offered in a collector's box limited to 99 units. Alternatively, each model is available for individual purchase. Another Beautiful Rado True Thinline Rado teamed up with Dutch trend researcher Li Edelkoort to design a watch reflecting our current inclination toward a slower lifestyle. With more free time and fewer external distractions, Edelkoort observed a shift in how we perceive meaning, prompted by a break from shopping that could lead to lasting changes in behavior. She predicted that the industry would respond by creating simpler designs and producing sustainable, long-lasting products. Despite this shift, Edelkoort believes that the focus on creating beautiful items will persist, with an emphasis on quality over quantity. Their collaboration introduces the Rado True Thinline Stillness, which embodies these ideas by combining durable materials with a graceful silhouette, offering both joy and practicality. Additionally, Rado watches introduces a new eco-friendly packaging with this watch, utilizing recycled plastic that doubles as a travel case. Measuring only 5mm thick, the watch is made from scratch-resistant warm white high-tech ceramic, featuring a white dial beneath a frosted sapphire crystal. White hour and minute hands encourage a more deliberate observation of time, prompting us to consider how we use it. According to Edelkoort, this design aims to remind us that time is within our control, yet often overlooked.
